With
earnings of $2,092,533.06 in NRHA sanctioned events, the sons and
daughters of Topsail Whiz, owned by Bob Loomis Quarter Horses, Marietta,
Okla., have earned their sire a place on NRHA's prestigious Two
Million Dollar Sire list.
The NRHA Derby, held last May in Oklahoma City provided the venue
for the "Whiz Kids" to excel and earn their sire yet another milestone
in his illustrious breeding career. For instance, Remin Whiz, ridden
by Duane Latimer for Lucy Van Swearingen, was third in the Derby
Open Division earning $33,155.33. Easy Otie Whiz, ridden by Latimer
for Frank Bolea, was fourth, earning $25,441.58. Tied for eleventh,
with earnings in excess of $7,000 was Nics Whiz, ridden by Brian
Bell for George Bell. Additional Derby money earners include Roll
Whiz It, ridden by Tricia Hamilton for Bob Hamilton in the Limited
Open Division, Who Whiz It, ridden by Zane Haverty for Clint Haverty
in the Non Pro and Intermediate Non Pro divisions and Whiz It Is
It, owned and shown by Nicole Rose Dryden in the Limited Non Pro
Division.
This has been an milestone year for this extraordinary stallion. Topsail
Whiz was inducted into NRHA's Hall of Fame at the 2003 NRHA Convention
in Las Vegas, Nev. The Hall of Fame represents not only NRHA's past,
but its present and future. Topsail Whiz is an excellent representation
of all three categories. He is a third generation Hall of Famer. His
sire, Topsail Cody was inducted into the NRHA Hall of Fame in 1996.
His grandsire, Joe Cody, was inducted in 1989. If you read the results
in any current NRHA Reiner magazine, you will notice that Topsail Whiz
is represented across the board - in everything from NRHA's entry-level
classes to the prestigious Open divisions. At age sixteen, Topsail Whiz
has produced an NRHA Open Division Futurity Champion as well as Futurity
Intermediate and Non Pro Champions. He's sired two NRHA Derby Champions,
two USET Champions, an NRBC Derby Champion, several Aged Event reserve
champions, numerous NRHA Futurity finalists in every division, NRHA
World Champions and top ten placers. He's sired several AQHA World Champions
and at the 2002 AQHA World Show, the get of Topsail Whiz won world championship
titles in the Amateur, Junior and Senior Reining - a clean sweep. And,
as far as the future is concerned, many sons and daughters of Topsail
Whiz are already on record as sires and producers of NRHA money earners.
Topsail Whiz - an extraordinary stallion reaching an extraordinary milestone
as an NRHA Two Million Dollar Sire.
