Reiners from across the U.S.A. qualify to compete in this Bayer/USEF Festival of Champions Reining Finals by performing in USEF qualifier classes offered throughout the show season at five major NRHA sanctioned events. There is quite a bit at stake in this Championship. U.S. riders competing in the $75,000 added USEF Reining Championship Finals are vying for two slots in the inaugural Federation Equestrian Internationale (FEI) World Reining Masters Series, which will be held in conjunction with the 2004 NRHA Futurity & Championship Show in Oklahoma City. The top two money-earning riders at the end of the qualifying period (January 1 – October 15, 2004) will advance to the 2004 World Reining Masters Finals. The possibility still exists that another CRI could be scheduled. If so, those earnings could change the standings. With so much riding on the outcome, this class is sure to be extraordinary – an exciting finale to a week of intense NRHA competition! “The purpose of the FEI World Reining Master Series is to develop a program that will encourage and permit the continued growth of Reining internationally,” says Reining Horse Sports Foundation President and FEI Reining Committee Chairman Frank Costantini. There is a guaranteed $100,000 purse in the FEI World Reining Masters Finals, which will host riders from around the world who have successfully competed and qualified in their own country’s CRI classes. The FEI World Reining Masters Finals is open to every country that sends qualified riders. Countries who made the Finals at the 2002 World Equestrian Games can send two riders. Those countries are the U.S.A., Canada, Italy, Great Britain, and Germany. All other countries can send one rider. The
USEF Young Rider Reining Medals class is scheduled to begin at 8:00
a.m. on Sunday, May 23, 2004 and will be followed by the $75,000 added
FEI/USEF Open Reining Championships. Plan to attend the NRHA Derby from
beginning to end. Each and every day will live up to your highest expectations.
