Stables in Italy, Nicola is a multiple IRHA/NRHA Derby, Maturity
and Futurity champion and is currently leading the IRHA Top Open
Riders, all divisions, with Euro123,386,34 earned in the last
3 years.
Nicola –
who is representing his country’s colors for the first time
- will be seen riding Spat a Blue, (Spat Olena x Arc Joy Surprise)
an 8-yr-old stallion born and bred in Italy, and owned by Risso
Claudio. Winners of the 2009 FEI CRI held in Mooslargue and the
CRI held both in Reggio Emilia and Manerbio, Italy, this year,
this horse and rider combination also made the 2010 IRHA/NRHA
Derby and Maturity finals.
Dario
Carmignani
Dario has
represented Italy ever since the first Reining Demonstration held
during the 1998 World Equestrian Games in Rome. He was on the
Italian Team (Bronze Medal) at the 2000 Festival Of Champions
held in Gladstone, USA, at the 2002 WEG in Jerez, Spain, the 2006
WEG in Aachen, Germany and was on the Italian Team that claimed
the gold medal in the 2008 FEI World Reining Championships held
in Manerbio, Italy where he also took the individual Silver medal.
Dario will be riding Red Chic Peppy, the 2006 NRHA Open World
Champion (with Martin Larcombe in the saddle). This 11-year-old
stallion is also an NRHA Gold Certificate Earner, an NRHA Silver
Certificate Earner and NRHA Certificate of Merit Earner. Owned
by Maria Bianca Bianchi, Red Chic Peppy is by Smart Genolena and
out of Peppy Little Jensen and boasts over $107,000 in NRHA competition.

for Arcese Quarter Horses, Italy, Stefano is a multiple IRHA/NRHA
Futurity, Derby and Maturity Champion. He will be riding Yellow
Jersey, a six-year-old stallion by Wimpys Little Step and out
of Ms Clara Melody owned by Arcese Quarter Horses U.S.A. Shown
as a 3-year-old by Brent Wright, the talented palomino was moved
to Italy where he was shown by Stefano who went on to make the
finals in the 2008 edition of the IRHA/NRHA Derby, to claim the
2009 IRHA/NRHA Open Derby Co-Championship and the 2009 IRHA/NRHA
Open Maturity Championship. Stefano was also the first rider to
claim the Italian Reining Horse Association Triple Crown in Reining
by winning the Futurity, Derby and Maturity back to back.
Marco
Ricotta
Born in Bientina,
Tuscany Italy, Marco has left his mark in both European and US
arenas. Prior to his 2007 move to McQuay Stables, Marco (riding
for team Italy) won the individual gold medal at the 2005 FEI
European Reining Championships and was a member of the 2006 Italian
WEG team. Since his move to Texas, Marco has been a finalist at
multiple NRHA sanctioned events, including the NRHA futurity,
the NRHA Derby and the NRBC. In 2009, Marco was the Intermediate
Open champion at the NRBC and the Open Reserve Champion at the
NRHA Derby on Hollywoodstinsletown. In 2010, Marco and Hollywoodstinsletown
were fourth in the Open Finals at the NRBC. Marco, who has won
close to $300,000 in NRHA competition will be riding Smart and
Shiney, a 7-year-old stallion by Smart Shiner and out of Tronas
Pearl. Owned by Lyle Lovett, Smart and Shiney is an NRHA Open
Derby and NRBC Open finalist and boasts over $102,000 in lte.
